Cool Thing Quartet

We are 4 musicians who have played in a variety of concert, jazz, and marching bands plus a few pit orchestras over the last 20 years. My wife Judy and I had considered forming a quartet for a couple years just to be able to choose the music we wanted to play. After a gig we chatted with a couple of band members about the idea and shortly after, in 2018, we formed our quartet, acquired some sheet music and began rehearsals. We all agreed that “It’s A Cool Thing To Do” and that is how our sax quartet got its name. In 2022 we rebranded to Cool Thing Quartet.

Our repertoire of over 200 songs is an eclectic mix of what we like and what our audiences have requested- classical, pop, rock and yes, even some country.

Our gigs have included garden parties, galas, seniors’ facilities, church functions and many volunteer performances for community events.
